State Police: 2 Dead In Parker City Murder-Suicide

PARKER CITY, Ind. (AP) _ Authorities are investigating the deaths of two men in an apparent murder-suicide at a central Indiana apartment complex.

Indiana State Police said in a statement that an off-duty trooper and police officers responded to a report of shots fired around 2:30 p.m. Sunday at an apartment complex in Parker City, about 10 miles east of Muncie.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicates that 28-year-old Jonathan L. Sumwalt of Farmland approached an apartment and fatally shot 31-year-old Michael L. Refzka when Refzka answered the door.

According to the statement, Sumwalt then shot himself.

Investigators believe the shooting was “part of a dispute resulting from a love triangle.'' An investigation is ongoing.
