Heavy Rain Brings Flash Flood Warnings, Power Outages

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ Heavy rains have prompted flash flood warnings and led to electrical outages across central Indiana.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning until 11:30 p.m. Sunday for Boone, Montgomery, Hamilton, southern Clinton, northwestern Marion and northeastern Hendricks counties.

Authorities urged drivers to use caution and avoid flooded roads. IDOT reports one lane of I-65 south of Indianapolis was closed due to high water.

The Indianapolis Star reports 2,600 Indianapolis Power & Light Co. customers were without power at 8 p.m.

An IPL spokeswoman tells the newspaper repair crews are working to restore service.
