Indiana Judges Visiting Schools for Constitution Day

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ About 40 judges from around Indiana are planning to visit schools this week in observance of Constitution Day.

The activities on Thursday commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787.

The Indiana Supreme Court says about 400 students from seven schools are scheduled to visit the Statehouse and attend oral arguments before the state's highest court that day.

Judges from county courts and the state appeals court also will visit classrooms in about 20 counties to talk with students about their role in applying the law. They'll be using a classroom simulation prompting students to consider when a juvenile should be moved to adult court to face criminal charges.
