FWCS Awarded $3.3 Million Dollars Under Leadership Program

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Through an award from the U.S. Department of Education, over $3.3 million dollars has been award to Fort Wayne Community Schools.

In all, $16.2 million dollars were awarded to eight grantees. A total of $16,280,233 was awarded, with Fort Wayne getting the largest grant.

Under the Turnaround School Leaders Program (TSLP), grantees like FWCS can develop systems designed to provide high-quality training to selected new school leaders and current school leaders. It provides them with ongoing professional development and other support that focuses on instructional leadership and school management.

Programs are designed to retain effective school leaders or replace ineffective ones.

The exact total awarded was $3,318,257.
