Health Commissioner: Get Your Flu Shot Early

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): You may want to get ready for Flu Season earlier this year. Allen County Health Commissioner Dr. Deborah McMahon tells WOWO news in recent years they've been seeing cases of the flu earlier than usual.

“We used to see it usually in February thru March, but now we're seeing it as early as November. The CDC used to say you should wait until October, but now they're saying to get vaccinated as soon as it's available.”

Indiana saw more deaths from the 2014-2015 flu season than it had in the past ten years.
