Jury Deliberating Accused Murderer Washington’s Fate

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A jury is deciding the fate of Jeremy Washington after closing arguments came to a close Wednesday afternoon.

Prosecutors described Washington in court Wednesday as “stunningly unremorseful” following the events that led to the fatal crash that killed 17 year old Haley Nellum and the shooting of Chad Jackson on March of 2014. Prosecutors say Washington was the only person to fire shots at Jackson.

Defense attempted to cast doubt on the testimony and quality of witnesses. They tried to show Washington as a man who was afraid for his life at the scene of the shooting.

Prosecutors say all of this could have been prevented if he didn't get behind the wheel while intoxicated.
