Washington Acquitted of Murder Charges in Haley Nellum Case

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): An Allen County jury has spared Jeremy Washington from murder and attempted murder charges in the March 2014 death of a Fort Wayne teenager.

It took more than 13 hours, but in the end the jury found 36-year-old Jeremy Washington guilty of reckless homicide, but NOT murder or attempted murder, in the death of Haley Nellum early this morning.

Washington’s car slammed into hers while he was fleeing a shooting he participated in at the Corner Pocket Pub… our partners in news at 21Alive report he was going over 100 miles per hour at the time of the crash. Washington was also convicted of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon and drunk driving. He’ll be sentenced on those charges next month.
