Fort Wayne Mother Sentenced to 16 Years in Prison for Neglect

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne mother has been given a 16 year prison sentence for neglect of a dependent.

27 year old Amber Cochran had previously pleaded guilty to the crime for the incident that happened in January of this year.

Our partners in news at 21alive are reporting her 3 year old son was dropped off at his father's house with bruising and part of his hair missing. The child told police that Cochran's boyfriend, Michael Holloway, grabbed the child by his hair after he and his 2 year old brother got into his medicine.

Holloway also received a 16 year sentence when he took a plea deal in August.
