FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne's Mayor is taking a side on the Syrian refugee crisis.

While Indiana Governor Mike Pence says Syrian refugees aren't welcome in Indiana, Mayor Tom Henry has joined an open letter to Congress supporting the refugees. Posted on USMayors.org, the letter, which includes 62 mayors from 28 states, urges congress to take no action that will jeopardize the nation's heritage as one of a “beacon of hope” for those seeking protection from persecution, asking lawmakers to not prevent Syrian refugees from entering the US. 

Governor Pence says he wants to make sure any refugees allowed into Indiana are not a threat.
