Gov. Pence Touts Regional Cities Successes in Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Governor Mike Pence visited Fort Wayne Tuesday and he remains confident the Legislature will allocate another $42 million to the Indiana Economic Development Corp.

That's so all three regions selected to receive state redevelopment money will be fully funded. The IEDC last week selected three metro regions centered around South Bend, Fort Wayne and Evansville to receive the grants.

Pence says this money will have lasting effect. “By focusing on quality of place, and having the people of Indiana be full partners with regional development, we're laying a pathway for our third century to be more prosperous than our first two.”

Pence says even the four regions that weren't selected will benefit because those cities and counties have begun working together to improve their quality of life.
