Police Seek Info on Bank Robber

 

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Police Department is trying to track down a man who robbed the Fifth Third Bank at 6100 Rothman Road Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called to the bank at a little before 5pm, where employees told them a white male, 5'9, with a tan hat that covered his ears, between the ages of 25-35 years old, wearing a red hoodie with white lettering and blue jeans, handed a teller a letter demanding money and escaped with an undisclosed amount. No weapon was ever revealed during the robbery.

Police tried searching the area, including the use of a K9, but couldn't find the suspect.

 

Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect approached the teller counter in the bank lobby by himself.  The suspect handed the bank employee a letter demanding money.  The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money.  Bank employees reported seeing no weapon or gun brandished in the robbery. 

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Prosecutors Office, and the FBI, Fort Wayne Safe Streets Task Force.
