Film Production Company Eyes Old Steuben County Home as Set

ANGOLA, Ind. (AP) _ A film production company wants to buy a former rest home in Steuben County and turn the more than century-old building into a set for independent films and documentaries.

Adam Kimmell and Dan Allen of Knight Owl Productions told the Steuben County Commissioners on Monday they're interested in buying the building, which opened in 1885 and closed in the 1990s.

The Herald Republican reports (http://bit.ly/1PIuzn5 ) the commissioners decided to begin the process of a possible real estate transaction that will require two appraisals before it can be sold.

Commissioners President Ron Smith said the company's proposal had “obviously stirred some interest'' among the commissioners.

But county attorney Don Stuckey says the building could not be sold without the Steuben County Council's approval.
