Female Pedestrian Hit By Van in South Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne police are investigating a pedestrian accident that has a woman fighting for her life.

A woman was reportedly hit by a van at the intersection of Calhoun and McKinnie at about a little after noon Monday. The woman was unresponsive when emergency crews arrived. It was determined she was suffering from multiple traumatic injuries. 

Police say they believe she was crossing Calhoun when a van hit her. Police have interviewed the van driver, but no charges have been filed yet. It's unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor.

The woman is currently in critical condition at a local hospital.
