FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Fort Wayne Housing Authority is partnering with the Flint Housing Commission to bring bottled water and shower filters to residents in Flint.

Donations of bottled water and shower filters can be dropped off at the FWHA office at 7315 Hanna St. from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The city of Flint switched its source of water from Detroit’s system to the Flint River in spring 2014, but the water wasn’t properly treated to prevent the city’s lead pipes from contaminating the water supply.

The water crisis has lead to many investigations and lawsuits. Flint Mayor Karen Weaver said it could cost as much as $1.5 billion to replace water pipes. There isn’t a timeline for how long it will take to fix.
