Police say sword-wielding man broke into Indianapolis home

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): Police say a man armed with a samurai sword broke into an Indianapolis home and attacked the resident inside.

Officers arrested the 44-year-old man at the home on the city’s far northwest side about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday. Police say the resident suffered a cut to his arm and was treated at the scene.

Police say the man swung the sword at the resident after breaking into the home. The resident then hit him with a golf club and called police.

The man was taken to a hospital, where police say he would be undergoing a mental health examination because of his erratic behavior.
