Embattled Fort Wayne gynecologist facing new complaint

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A Fort Wayne gynecologist whose license has been suspended since November is facing new allegations.

Dr. Cortney Schwartz admitted to the Indiana Medical Licensing Board that he had sex with a number of patients over the past few years, but now a new complaint filed by the Indiana Attorney General’s Office says he may have given abortion meds off-the-record to a patient he was having sex with.

The Journal Gazette reports he allegedly performed a pregnancy test on her in January 2015 when she complained of stomach pains, but didn’t tell her the results, then prescribed a medication that can prevent stomach ulcers, but also causes an abortion. He also allegedly performed an “invasive” procedure, again without telling the woman what he was doing specifically.

His attorney has apparently not yet seen the latest complaint.
