ANGOLA, Ind. (WOWO):  A wanted fugitive in Steuben County has been caught.

Samuel Brett Smith, 25, of Angola was taken into custody without incident.  The Angola Police Department found Smith on N. Wayne Street near Morse Street.

The registered sex offender was booked into the Steuben County Jail on one felony count for failure to register as a sex or violent offender.  The Sheriff’s Office says Smith was not living at the residence he was registered under, in compliance with the Indiana’s Sex and Violent Offender Registry Law.

Smith is currently being held on a $2,500 bond.
