Fort Wayne community leaders seeking help in unsolved murders

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): There have been 12 fatal shootings this year in Fort Wayne. 11 of them are unsolved.

In fact, the only one that even had any real resolution was a police-action shooting in March that was ruled “self-defense” by the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.

Now people like Reverend Bill McGill of Imani Baptist Temple are looking for answers, as he told 21Alive people need to “find the courage of their convictions” to come forth with any info they have on the shootings.

All but one of the shootings have happened on the southeast side of town, and 11 of the 12 victims were men.

Fort Wayne Police say you can always give them an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
