AAA Hoosier Motor Club warns of distractions from “Pokemon Go”

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): The AAA Hoosier Motor Club is warning Indiana drivers that the Pokemon Go game is a dangerous distraction.

The organization says the smartphone game should not be played while driving because it dramatically increases the chance of a crash. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says distracted driving is responsible for the deaths of one out of every 10 drivers.

AAA Hoosier Motor Club spokesman Greg Seiter says motorists need to put down their phones while driving. He says one quick text or glance to see the next “Pokestop” could cost a life.

The Club says passengers should be the only ones in a vehicle glancing at the game screen and searching for characters.
