Negotiations underway with potential G.E. Campus buyer

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The General Electric campus in Fort Wayne could soon have a new owner.

A GE spokesman confirmed to the Journal Gazette that the company has narrowed down the field of potential buyers to one. The historic 32-acre campus went up for sale in May and yielded four proposals.

Recent studies on the property found that the public generally wants an “anchor” attraction placed there while also preserving the historic integrity of the campus.

The spokesman says negotiations with the remaining candidate are ongoing, and an announcement could come either in a few days, or several weeks.
