Salvage opportunity offered for historic Fort Wayne neighborhood

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The City of Fort Wayne is about to demolish a number of homes in an historic neighborhood, but not before giving you a chance to salvage something from them.

The City will be taking the wrecking ball to 15 homes in the Brookview-Irvington Historic District on West State Blvd, but beforehand, city residents will get an opportunity to scour the “post-war” homes, built in the 1930s and 40s, for things like light fixtures, flooring, and even appliances.

The salvage starts on December 5th, and neighbors get the first shot at it. You can find full details here.
