INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb chose a judge from Wabash to replace the retiring Robert Rucker on the Indiana Supreme Court today.

Holcomb says Judge Christopher Goff has a “firm belief” in judicial restraint, and will uphold the constitution while relating to “everyday Hoosiers.”

“Now you will have an opportunity, as the newest member of the court… to leave your own unique mark and create your own contribution. Congratulations, your Honor,” Holcomb said to Goff.

“I just can’t say what this means to my family,” Goff said. “To say that I am humbled in this moment would be an understatement.”

Holcomb made the announcement earlier today in Indianapolis. Rucker announced plans to retire earlier this year, and did so in May.
