NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WOWO): A New Haven man has been arrested on drug trafficking charges after an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

32-year-old Adonnis Carswell has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm in connection with a drug trafficking crime, and possession of a firearm after having been convicted of a crime.

The Journal Gazette reports that ATF agents investigating his home found plastic bags with cocaine residue, packaging for a kilogram of cocaine, and a small amount of crystal meth in his trash.

Police say when they served a search warrant at his home, Carswell tried to bribe an ATF agent into helping him get away with heroin found inside the house. The agent refused.

The search also yielded heroin, more than $30,000 in cash, two handguns, several loaded handgun magazines, and an “AK-47 style” rifle with a loaded 100-round drum magazine.
