Two Fort Wayne restaurants impacted by roaches

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Two Fort Wayne restaurants have been closed down due to roaches this week.

First, it was Casa Ristorante on West Jefferson Blvd Wednesday afternoon, after the Fort Wayne-Allen County Health Department found the bugs near a drain and inside an electrical panel. The bugs were exterminated and the restaurant reopened Wednesday night without incident.

But the Journal Gazette reports the Bob Evans at the Village of Coventry was closed down Thursday, also due to roaches, after inspectors found a can of roach spray on an ice machine and bugs living among clean plates and the food preparation area.

The restaurant was ordered to close and won’t reopen until the facility is treated by a professional pest control company, holes in the walls are filled, and other requirements are met.
