Woman pleads guilty to attempted murder of ex-husband

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A woman pleaded guilty Friday to trying to kill her disabled ex-husband back in 2017.

Shannon Labrosse, 41, pleaded guilty in Allen Superior Court according to the Journal Gazette. She faces up to 30 years in prison for attempted murder, with three counts of domestic battery and two counts of strangulation dismissed.

An affadavit says Labrosse struck the man, who has multiple sclerosis, in the head in his apartment in the 6300 block of Nina Drive after an altercation upset her. It alleges Labrosse placed a plastic bag over the victim’s head and then struck him with a jar and a hammer. Previously, Labrosse pleaded guilty in 2011 to a misdemeanor battery charge for beating him with a hammer.

Labrosse will be sentenced next month.
