Legacy Fund proposals clear hurdle

(Darrin Wright/1190 WOWO 107.5 FM)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Three requests for money from Fort Wayne’s Legacy Fund have passed a big hurdle.

We told you earlier about proposals for the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory, Clyde Theater, and the YWCA to use Legacy Fund money for proposed expansions and renovations. Thursday the city’s Joint Legacy Funding Committee approved concept letters from all three, according to the Journal Gazette.

The Conservatory wants to connect with the Embassy Theatre via a walkway, the Clyde Theatre is seeking renovations to drum up more concerts, and the YWCA wants to expand its crisis center.

Each proposal will face a second vote in September before being considered by the City Council.
