Wednesday drug teams received a drug tip from the U.S. Postal Service about an illegal package being delivered to a Garrett home. With this information, police executed a search warrant yesterday at that home on South Randolph Street in Garrett.  Once inside, police found Benjamin and Brytanee Hayes, along with marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a loaded gun. Both were taken to the DeKalb County jail.

Their 3-year-old daughter also inside at the time, was detained by the DeKalb County Department of Child Services.
