Agency Vendor: Pence Unjustified in Contract Cancellation

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ A private license branch operator for the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles says it objects to Gov. Mike Pence's decision to cancel its contract with the state.

The Indianapolis Star reports that the statement from Express MVA comes after a request last week by Pence for a former DMV official who's now working for the company to be investigated for possible ethics violations.

Express MVA calls Pence's actions “discriminatory'' and “unjustified.'' The governor's office says Pence is committed to ensuring ethical transparency.

The company says its efforts to meet with the Pence administration have been unsuccessful. A spokeswoman for Pence says the Bureau of Motor Vehicles is working to set up a meeting with Express MVA.
