FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): The Allen County magistrate has resigned.

According to the Journal Gazette, Richard Karcher resigned this week, less than two years into his tenure. Karcher submitted the resignation due to personal reasons, effective immediately.

Karcher was hired in 2013 when former magistrate, Marcia Linsky resigned.

The position will likely be filled by a senior judge until they find a permanent replacement.

Allen Superior Court Judge Fran Gull told the Journal Gazette, the job will be posted on Monday and the senior judge will assist in training the new magistrate.
