ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The Allen County Sheriff's Department will accept applications for the Citizens Academy class of 2014. The Academy gives residents a chance to have in-depth exposure to law enforcement and learn the many divisions of County Government. Instructors and staff will give presentations about law enforcement, including patrol, criminal investigation, crime scene processing, K-9, and SWAT operations. The Academy meets every Wednesday from 5:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M. for 12 weeks. The Academy is open to all Allen County residents 16 years and older. Those 13-15 years of age can attend the Academy with a parent or legal guardian. The next session of the Allen County Sheriff’s Citizen’s Academy will start August 20th and go through November 5th.
