FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A slight drop in the unemployment rate for Allen County.

Numbers provided by the Allen County Auditor's office show a 4.2% unemployment rate for the county for the month of August, compared to 4.5% in July. It's part of a drop seen statewide, as Indiana dropped from 4.8% to 4.4%, and nationally as well, with August's unemployment listed at 5.2% compared to July's 5.6%. 

Ohio has the lowest statewide unemployment in the region at 4.3%; Illinois has the highest at 5.6%.
