An Allen County Deputy is Fired

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): An Allen County deputy has been fired. Six-year veteran Christopher Ley was discharged today after a vote by the Sheriff's Department merit board.

According to the Journal-Gazette, officials said he showed gross incompetence in basic police work and was a safety risk. The decision comes following testimony from other police officers and supervisors.

The Sheriff's department hasn't commented on specifics of the case.
