Angola Adult Nightclub Case Heading to Federal Court

The battle over a proposed strip-club in Angola is now headed to a federal court. Owners of the proposed adult-oriented business filed a federal civil rights lawsuit last week against the city. Alva Butler, who owns Showgirl in Fort Wayne, is asking the court to allow the business to open under the freedom of speech provisions of the first-amendment and depriving personal freedom without due process under 14th amendment, that’s according to the Angola Herald-Republican. The city of Angola denied the business citing zone ordinances, which Butler says were altered after they bought the property last summer.
