FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A celebration of Arab culture is underway in downtown Fort Wayne as the 10th annual Arab Fest takes place this weekend at Headwaters Park, according to WPTA.
The festival runs from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and features Arab music, dance, food and cultural exhibits, WPTA reports.
According to the station, the event includes performances by Salaam Band, which is scheduled to perform at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Saturday and at 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
Dance troupe Wale3 Dabke is also providing entertainment, with performances scheduled for 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Saturday and at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, according to WPTA.
The station reports belly dancer Ashley Donaldson is performing at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on both days of the festival.
Festival-goers can also enjoy a variety of traditional foods and beverages, including falafel, kafta, tawouk, za’atar chips, rice, tabouleh, hummus and baklava, WPTA reports.
In addition to food and entertainment, WPTA says a number of vendors are participating in the event. Attendees can also meet Roscoe, a camel from Joy Journey Farms, who will be available for photos and interactive experiences including feeding and brushing.
