Attorney: Indianapolis Reaches Settlement in Shooting Suit

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) _ An attorney for a man and woman who filed a federal lawsuit alleging an Indianapolis reserve police officer unjustifiably fired at their car says the city has reached a $370,000 settlement in the case.

Luke Woodworth and Samantha Wills sued the city of Indianapolis and former Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reserve officer Michael Krebs last year. They claimed Krebs fired seven times at their car after they pulled into his driveway when lost while headed to a party on New Year's Day 2014.

Court documents say Krebs, after confronting the pair, fired on them after Woodworth backed out of the driveway.

Woodworth's attorney, Richard Waples, tells The Indianapolis Star the city has agreed to a $370,000 settlement.

Indianapolis' chief of litigation, Douglas Kowalski, declined to comment on the settlement.
