AUBURN, Ind. (WOWO): A music festival in Auburn Saturday looks to raise money for the families of two DeKalb High School football players killed in a recent car crash.

Derek Padilla and Lucas Oberkiser were killed a week ago today in a car crash in rural DeKalb County.

The story led to emotional tributes and outreach efforts for their friends and families. Jon Wilder, organizer of Saturday’s Auburn Music Festival, says the show will include a “free will” collection for the boys’ families.

“We want to show support and bring the community together… to show that they (the families) are not alone.”

Wilder says event organizers have a specific fundraising goal in mind, but they’re keeping that a secret for now.
