Aunt 3rd Person Charged in Neglect of Anderson Teen

ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) _ A 22-year-old Anderson woman now is charged with her parents in the neglect of her 15-year-old niece found weighing less than 40 pounds.

WISH and WTHR report three counts of neglect of a dependent resulting in serious injury and charges of criminal confinement and criminal confinement resulting in serious bodily injury have been filed against the woman. The Associated Press isn't identifying the woman to protect the girl's identity.

Prosecutors say the woman participated in the abuse and at times had sole control over the girl who investigators say was locked away in a room and was found covered in feces. The teen remains hospitalized.

The woman's parents, who are the grandparents of the girl, each face a dozen charges in the case.
