Authorities Identify Victim Shot in Home on Chippendale Court

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Authorities have identified the body of victim shot on Fort Wayne's southeast side Wednesday night.


According to the Allen County Coroner, the victim has been identified as 29-year-old Nicholas Palacio of Fort Wayne.


Just after 9:00 p.m., Wednesday evening, police were called to Chippendale Court off of Wayne Trace on report of shots being fired. Once officers arrived, they found Palacio inside a home, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Witnesses say a white vehicle left the scene after the shots were fired.  Detectives are currently interviewing potential witnesses and nearby neighbors.


Meanwhile the coroner says Palacio's cause of death was gunshots wounds and authorities have ruled Palacio's death as a homicide. He is the 6th homicide victim for Fort Wayne and Allen County this year.
