LAPORTE, Ind. (AP) — Authorities are investigating who is responsible for growing $120,000 worth of marijuana that was found growing in a farm field in northern Indiana.
LaPorte County Metro Operations Unit detectives and members of the Indiana State Police Marijuana Eradication Team dug up 40 large marijuana plants on Wednesday that had been transplanted in a cornfield west of LaPorte. Police destroyed the plants.
Authorities said the marijuana find was the result of tips from the public and surveillance of the area.
