Bill Aims to Restrict Police Access to Drivers’ Cell Phones

INDIANAPOLIS (AP): A bill headed for a hearing before an Indiana House committee seeks to restrict police access to motorists' text messages or calls. The measure would prevent police from accessing cell phone data without permission if the owner is pulled over for texting and driving or another related crime.
