Bill Proposed To Keep AM Radio In New Vehicles

NATIONWIDE, Ind. (WOWO) — A bi-partisan bill requiring AM Radio to remain in new vehicles sold in the United States is working its way through Congress.

Senator Todd Young has reintroduced the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act – which would direct the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to require automakers to maintain AM Broadcast Radio in all new vehicles at no charge to consumers.

Young pointed out the vital role played by AM Radio in preserving public safety – especially in rural areas.

Senator Jim Banks and more than 40 other bi-partisan Senators joined Young in co-sponsoring the legislation.
