Board of Commissioners’ Statement on Passage of Pond Memorial Highway Resolution

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): The Allen County Board of Commissioners today released the following statement regarding approval of a resolution by the Indiana House of Representatives requesting that a portion of US Highway 24 east of New Haven be named in honor of Representative Phyllis Pond.

“The Board of Commissioners wishes to thank the Indiana House of Representatives for passing this resolution.  The Board also extends its gratitude to Representative Casey Cox for authoring the measure.  As we stated when we first proposed the resolution last November, Representative Pond was committed to the people of her district and this state during her 35 years in office.  This act would be a fitting tribute to her service and it is our hope that the Indiana Department of Transportation will grant this request.”
