MUNCIE, Ind. (AP): An 8-year-old Muncie boy who was touched by the devastation caused by an earthquake in Haiti is creating and selling coffee cups to benefit children in the impoverished nation.

Third-grader Jonathan Shaw tapped his artist mother, Sarah Shaw, for ideas after seeing reports about the damage caused by the quake. They decided to create coffee cups from clay and sell them to raise money.

The pair has made and sold hundreds of the $10 cups for a relief organization called World Vision since 2010. Each cup has a scripture verse and the initials CK, for the Cups for Kids program, on the bottom.

Sarah Shaw says the venture has become a family project that includes her husband and other children.
