Bridge Construction Begins on I-69 Bridges in Dekalb County

DEKALB COUNY, Ind. (WOWO): A $3.1 million project to replace two bridges on I-69 in Dekalb County will soon begin, as announced by the Indiana Department of Transportation.

According to the Journal Gazette, the project will replace two bridges on I-69 that go over the Peckhart Ditch, just south of the S.R. 8 interchange.

Expect construction barrels to go up this week, depending on the weather. Actual construction on the bridges starts this May over the Peckhart Ditch, with continuous lane shifts on SB I-69.

Later this month, asphalt work will also begin on the shoulder of the freeway at mile markers 326 and 329. There will likely be daytime lane restrictions while crews are working in that area.

Drivers are asked to use caution while passing construction zones.
