Chamber of Commerce Names Brooks Top Gov’t Leader

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – The Indiana Chamber of Commerce has named U.S. Rep. Susan Brooks its “Government Leader of the Year.''

The chamber honored the central Indiana Republican Thursday at its annual awards dinner. The state's top business group lauded Brooks' effectiveness in just two years in Washington, including her ability to get two bills passed in a sharply partisan environment.

Brooks says it's “incredibly humbling'' to receive an award that has also been given to former U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar and former Gov. Mitch Daniels.

The chamber also honored Bloomington as its community of the year.
