FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A local company is looking for apprentice applicants. Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 166 is looking for applicants to fill at least 20 five-year apprenticeships for plumbers, pipefitters, welders, and heating and air conditioning technicians. Applicants have to have at least a high school degree or equivalent, be at least 18 years old by July 1st of this year, and pass an aptitude test to be considered. The recruiting process is done with WorkOne Northeast. The deadline for applicants is February 14th. The wages of selected apprentices will gradually rise during the course of the program – from $12.32 an hour to $26.19 an hour.
