CORONER: Boy Died from Blunt Force Head Trauma

BLUFFTON, Ind. (WOWO): New details in the death of Bluffton's 3-year-old Owen Collins.

In January the boy's mother and boyfriend told police they would give the boy and his brother drugs for quote “fun”

Wells County Coroner Kent Gilbert told WOWO News “the cause of death is blunt force head trauma, it is homicide and toxicology showed no drugs in the system.”

According to court records, the boys body was wrapped in plastic and later removed from a trailer in Bluffton. The body was found in a wooded area in rural Wells County. 

Thirty-year-old Zachary Barnes and 21-year-old Breanna Arnold include neglect, abuse of a corpse, obstruction of justice and altering the scene of death. 

Sixteen-year-old Zach Barker is also charged with abuse of a corpse and altering the scene of a death.
