Council Sends Collective Bargaining on to Mayor

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): Fort Wayne City Council will not reconsider their vote to end collective bargaining for non-public safety workers from May 27.

In the original vote two weeks ago, the measure passed 7-2 (with Tom Shoaff voting with the majority to push the reconsideration measure.)

Council voted 6-3 tonight, with councilman Glynn Hines, Geoff Paddock and Tom Shoaff voting to reconsider. Dr. John Crawford was absent from the meeting.

The ordinance now heads to Mayor Tom Henry's desk for approval.

He's said he will veto it.

Council could vote to override that veto June 24.
