FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WOWO): A death investigation is underway after a shooting victim was found inside a parked vehicle outside a Fort Wayne hotel.

Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department were called to the Suburban Extended Stay on W. Coliseum Boulevard at approximately 1:40 p.m., Monday.  It was reported that a man was unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a parked car. Once officers and medics arrived, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Upon further investigation, officers found shell casings near the vehicle and the man did appear to be a victim of a shooting, says Michael Joyner spokesperson with the Fort Wayne Police Department.
