Dirt Bike Accident Puts 9 Year Old in Hospital

BLACKFORD COUNTY, Ind. (WOWO): Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating a dirt bike accident that sent a 9-year-old boy to the hospital.

According to officers, the Montpelier boy was riding a dirt bike at a friend’s house Tuesday afternoon. He was traveling near the Blackford-Wells County line when the visor on the helmet he was wearing became loose, blocking his eyes.

While his vision was obstructed, he hit a utility trailer with the dirt bike. The collision resulted in serious injury to his leg. He was taken to a nearby hospital. The injury is not life-threatening, but he will need surgery.
